Word Swirls
(Element Children's Books, England, 2000)

One of my first projects was illustrating my own book with Element Children's Books. I had written to an editor there asking if he was in need of an illustrator. Next thing he contacted me that he fell in love with a doodle word swirl on the top of my letter and offered me a book contract to create a series of them!

Children create and play with words that follow different swirls while feeling good about themselves.
